Howie, you're a sick old dog. Your brain has completely exploded into your banana.

This was brilliantly paced and wickedly funny... your comedic timing and cheeky asides made for an irresistible read. I genuinely laughed out loud more than once. It takes skill to blend observational humor with personal storytelling so seamlessly, and, as usual, you nailed it. A delight from pineapple to punchline.

I, myself, love pineapples and I fell in love with this pineapple machine in Lider (Walmart Chile). I assume you click this link in comments https://www.flickr.com/gp/sbgphotography/8485777N12

Hilarious! Have you played this through audio? It is even a bit funnier if that is possible. The voice of the woman reading it is great. Great job Howie!

I love you writing a story where you get lost in symbolism. It made me think. What if I was driving and the road t-split while I witnessed a flock of geese overhead flying in a V formation. I'd pick going left at the intersection because the V is shaped bigger on the left hand side. I'd come across a field of cows looking towards the direction of which I'm going. At the next intersection I must be going straight ahead. After parking my car in a handicapped zone (after all I feel mentally ill, but manage on most days) I'd engage in cloth shopping and buy a new pair of swimming trunks because it's summer and raining.

I wonder if I could live like this or if I've always lived like this, but just wasn't aware... Oh dear...

All I can say is, keep your eyes on the road and look out for the fork in the road when there’s no spoon in sight.

Your funny piece made me hungry for some pineapple upside-down cake! Unfortunately, my wife isn't much of a baker--she makes it right side up. Keep up the good work!

I love it. As I was told by one of my male readers concerning bananas vs clams, "You may say that it isn't what you like, but do you really know until you try it?" My response was "I'm a writer, and If you want a story with lots of bananas, I will write a few of those, but I will also write a few stories that are all clams. My favorite to write is a combination platter."

Thanks! My stories don’t have a lot of bananas but they are nuts…
